Since the 15^th of January 2020, Elissar News, has started its series of articles, reports and news about the COVID-19 pandemic, that has spread to every corner of the earth, registering today, at 11:30 pm, 5^th of May 2020, 3,711,387 cases and 257,019 deaths, with USA ranking number one in peace and war, and now with COVID-19 cases, registering nearly third of the world with 1,230,925 cases, and 71,769 deaths, these results came following more rigorous testing, 7,681,934 tests were performed so far.

Spain, followed in the second place, exceeding quarter a million cases 250,561, and 4^th in the world in number of deaths, 25,613 deaths, 1,932,455 tests, Italy is in the third place with 213,013 cases and third in the world in number of deaths 29,315 deaths, 2,246,666 tested so far, 4^th came UK with 194,990     cases, and the second in the world in the number of deaths  29,427, so far 1,383,842 tests were performed

France however came fifth in number of cases and deaths, 170,551 cases, 25,531 deaths, 1,100,228 tests, in the 6^th place came Germany with 166,696 cases and 6,993 deaths, 2,547,052 tests, Russia in 7^th place with 155,370 cases and 1,451 deaths, while 4,460,357 tests were performed, Turkey came in 8^th place 129,491 cases, 3,520 deaths, 1,204,421 tests, Brazil in 9^th place 110,156 cases, 7,485 deaths, only 339,552 tests performed, which raises questions about the real number of cases and deaths in Brazil, Iran came in 10^th place with 99,970 cases, 6,340 deaths, 519,543 tests performed so far.

Ironically, all these countries preceded China, where the first cases were reported, China has now 82,881 cases, 4,633 deaths, with no record of tests performed so far.

While reading the numbers, we may feel optimistic that the number of cases in China have reached a standstill, in Germany and Russia the least rate of death, in comparison, USA, Spain, Italy, UK, France, Russia, Turkey and Brazil, the figures are alarming, especially in Russia where more than 10 thousand new cases were recorded today, and in USA, Turkey and Brazil the numbers are possibly much higher.

Other alarming figures around the world are those of new cases, in USA 18,090, Russia 10,102, UK 4,406, Peru 3,817 total (51,189), India 2,963 total (49,400), Spain 2,260, Brazil 1,890, Turkey 1,832, Saudi Arabia 1,595, total (30,251), Mexico 1,434 total (24,905), Chile 1,373, total (22,016), Iran 1,323, Canada 1,187 total (61,959) 12^th in the world.
